Privacy & cookies

The short version
This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking of any kind, and it does not collect your personal details. Your mouthguard design, any artwork you upload and the name you type stay on your own device.
Who we are
This website is run by Acorn Polymers (U.K.) Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 03514874), registered office Victoria Works, Nelson Street, Bolton BL3 2DW (“Acorn Polymers”, “we”, “us”). For any question about this notice or your personal data, email sales@acornpolymers.co.uk or call 01204 524404.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. This website does not set any cookies, and it does not store anything else in your browser (such as local storage) either. We do not use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking. Because nothing is stored on your device, there is nothing to accept or decline, which is why you will not see a cookie banner.
If we ever add cookies or analytics, we will update this notice and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
The mouthguard designer
The designer runs entirely in your web browser. When you choose colours, upload artwork or type a name, that information is not sent to us or to anyone else. Pressing Save Design creates the PDF on your own device. If you then email the PDF to your dentist or dental technician, they handle it under their own privacy policy.
Please only upload artwork you have the right to use.
Information we receive
When you visit the site. Like every website, our host receives technical information needed to deliver the pages to you — your IP address, browser type and the pages requested — and may keep it briefly in server logs for security and to keep the service running. We do not use this to identify you.
When you contact us. If you email or phone us, we use your name, contact details and message to reply and, if you are a dental professional, to deal with your order or account. We keep this for as long as needed for that purpose and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Services that help deliver this site
To show the pages, some files are delivered by other companies. Your browser connects to them directly, so they receive your IP address and basic browser information. They do not receive anything you type or upload.
- Netlify — hosts the website.
- Google Fonts (Google) — supplies the typefaces used on the site.
- cdnjs (Cloudflare), jsDelivr and unpkg — supply the 3D graphics library the designer uses. Your browser uses the first one that responds.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK and EU; they are responsible for providing appropriate safeguards for those transfers. Our lawful basis for using them is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law (UK GDPR and EU GDPR) you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. To make a request, email sales@acornpolymers.co.uk.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or, if you live in the EU, to the data protection authority in your country.
Product information
Colours and designs shown on this website and in the designer are representations and may vary from the finished mouthguard. Every mouth is a different shape, and marbles are swirled by hand, so each guard is unique. GuardUp mouthguards are custom-made by dental professionals; we supply materials to dentists and laboratories and do not sell direct to the public.
